Pink beauty of South East Asia

When I saw this flower I was overwhelmed by it’s beauty. I could not believe it is a ginger flower.  Ginger to me were only brownish roots. I never imagined what the plant might look like. There are many names for this flower. My favourite for this Sunday’s beauty is Red Ginger Lily.

This flower became even more special to me after I found out, that the buds of the flower are used to make laksa, one of my two favourite Malay dishes.
